Buffalo NAS-Central Forums

Hi guys!

Many noticed that nas-central.org was down a few days ago - a good sign to see that all this here makes sense.

So what happened and whats going on?
I updated the server as i do every few months, but this time it seems it was left in a inconsistent state. it crashed a few days later and as there was practically no information about what was the root of the crash we decided yesterday to reinstall the nas-central.org XEN instance from scratch. i fell off my chair at 3 am local time yesterday, but timtimred proceeded with the the basic installation (moving around files, installing/configuring stuff, securing the instance). And now the wikis, forums and the blog are back online now. Thx again timtimred for helping me, i really appreciate your help.

What`s already working?

1) All Wikis (<vendor>.nas-central.org & http://www.nas-central.org)
2) All three forums (general forum, kurobox forum and buffalo forums)
3) The blog at blog.nas-central.org
4) (UPDATE) The Mail Service is up and running again.
5) (UPDATE) Therefore its possible to register in all wikis/forums/blog again.

What`s still missing?

1) all former wiki & downloadsection-admins with access to the server need to be added again.

So it will be my pleasure to fix the non working stuff so we all can have a good time again together!

@Everyone who tries to register:
Please be patient as it will still take a few days to finish the installation. Then registering will be possible again.

Wheeew... I thought for a minute it was something far worse... decided to close or some nonsense. I missed the place, really!!!

I'd like to make a point that (at least on the buffalo wiki, I assume the others as well) you can register and make changes, however, as MB said, you will not be able to confirm the registration until the mail server is ready.

That's only because I had to move that time ago. Love this box and this community, wish I had more time to dedicate to it.

(UPDATE) Mailserver is up and running again. Registration is now possible again.

Only 2 missing points:
1) fixing the buffalo wiki....it currently bails out with an error when trying to save or preview a page...although saving works then finally.
2) giving out the currently revoked admin rights.

Well, one thing is that when I edit a page in the Articles, I always get an error. The edit is saved as desired, but an error is displayed. (I can't imagine that it is just me...)

Also, something w/ the Articles is strange, since when a new article is added, it still shows that the latest article is the Mini-Gentoo addition...

Maybe a plugin is missing?

Are there any plans to get FTP logins working again? I have quite a few items I would like to upload and at the moment I cannot login to upload them.

The site was down again the day before yesterday (and yesterday?). Crashed again?

Seems like you updated the forum software?! I can switch to german in the board preferences but the language stays english and I get following error when posting a reply (the posting is NOT lost though):
