I did, but the most important line I read was:

"This is experimental software that might brick your linkstation!"

so I am prefering to ask the specialists about what I have to do , ok ?

I've got a similar problem to the OP with my LS320GL. I run Mac OS X Leopard on a dual-boot machine. I was booted into Windows to upgrade the firmware from 1.03 (stock) to 1.11 (also stock) and Windows crashed on me towards the end of the update.

Since then I've been able to get to the web config pages which report the firmware as 1.11, but I haven't been able to mount any afp shares, even new ones that I create.

I've since modified the LSUpdater configuration to reupdate the firmware to 1.11 (no crash this time) and then subsequently to 1.12-2a, but still have no afp access. I've also tried initializing the whole drive.

I'm a bit stymied at this point and wonder if anyone has any advice. I don't have telnet access to the machine but I'm thinking I should probably just go ahead and do that.

Update:
The plot thickens: I just downgraded/sidegraded to firmware 1.03 with the telnet access enabled and now I have afp access again.

Anyone know what changes in the 1.11 and above firmwares might've made them incompatible with Leopard?

You might need to compile netatalk with uams_dhx* support.

i found this page http://www.atlnet.de/2007/11/03/leopard ... lk-servern

and i tried the second solution, but no success, i still got in /var/log/messages this error:

Dec 10 21:34:45 LS-GLBC6 afpd[22189]: Fatal error: mac charset ISO8859-15 not supported

Hello,

the nas_configgen program writes a wrong Codepage into the conf files from atalk everytime you start atalkd.
If you comment out the configure() routine from /etc/inet.d/atalk.sh and changing the codepage to MAC_ROMAN in afpd_conf and/or AppleVolumes.default then finally it should work.
