I have Freelink 1.11 installed and am following the instructions on Andre's Webinstaller page.
When I say:

-------------
Code:
LinkStation:~#/usr/local/sbin/webinstaller-kernelinst-dryrun.sh

Linkstation 2.6 kernel webinstaller
http://hvkls.dyndns.org/downloads/documentation/README-webinstaller.html

--> HG/HS/KuroHG/Tera with FreeLink
--> Will install into /tmp/kernel-inst

Starting downloads (truncation warnings and timouts resulting in error 404 can be ignored safely)...

--> Getting webinstaller... md5sum: latest-webinstaller.tar.gz.md5: No such file or directory
mv: cannot stat `latest-webinstaller.tar.gz*': No such file or directory

latest-webinstaller.tar.gz was either outdated and removed; or there was a server problem.
--> Re-run the webinstaller; or try again later.

--------------------

I also have bravely tried to run the non dry-run version with similar results.

--------------
Code:
LinkStation:~# usr/local/sbin/webinstaller-kernelinst.sh
-bash: usr/local/sbin/webinstaller-kernelinst.sh: No such file or directory
LinkStation:~# /usr/local/sbin/webinstaller-kernelinst.sh

Linkstation 2.6 kernel webinstaller
http://hvkls.dyndns.org/downloads/documentation/README-webinstaller.html

--> HG/HS/KuroHG/Tera with FreeLink
--> Will install into /

-------------------
Am I doing something wrong?
Thx.

No, but for some reason, you can't download things right. Can you access my server with your browser?

Yes, I think so...This is also indicated by the fact that the scripts do download:

Code:
wget http://hvkls.dyndns.org/downloads/latest-webinstaller.tar.gz
tar -C / -xvzf latest-webinstaller.tar.gz

It is only after this that the problem starts: It is just the main scripts (both dry-run and the actual) that have a problem....

by the way .... great work :up: otherwise (I am learning from you)

Also, I am not sure if I was clear in answering your question. Yes, I can access your server through the browser and even see the files that I am supposed to be downloading.

That's weird. The server is up and running, and I can see people using the webinstaller in my logs.

I whould like to bump this, I am getting the same message when I try to upgrade to 2.6.

I can download from you site, but am unable to use your script.

By editing the sript I can see that the files are downloading (but then it fails the m5p check, very thourgh). Also It needs to "Resolving hvkls.dyndns.org... 84.44.131.183"

BTW thank you for taking the time to write it.

EDIT: after looking at the output, it is a little diffrent
Code:
file-box:/tmp/kernel-inst# /usr/local/sbin/webinstaller-kernelinst.sh

Linkstation 2.6 kernel webinstaller
http://hvkls.dyndns.org/downloads/documentation/README-webinstaller.html

--> HG/HS/KuroHG/Tera with FreeLink
--> Will install into /

--> Re-run the webinstaller; or try again later.

file-box:/tmp/kernel-inst#

I can see two possible reasons for that. 1) The dyndns upgrade has failed again, 2) your are in the 69.118. or 69.242. address range I had to block due to abuse. If the latter is the case, wait two weeks, connect from a different subnet, or contact me for a monitored session. I am sorry, but I had to take this measure, for the first time ever.

Thanks for a speedy reply,
That's not my IP, and I only downloaded the needed files. I am sorry that you had to block someone though.

Anyway, I got it workinging. I think that wget was timeing out before your server responded (maybe try longer than 6 sec for timeout?). I did seem to have a slow conection to your server.

What I did:
-removed most of the option's in the func_get for wget
-removed the place where you download and m5sum the webinstaller (seeing that I modifyed it)

Thank you so much for creating an easyer way to get 2.6 on a PPC HG, I wanted it for better USB and also JFS, got it working now.
