I am having a problem getting a Terastation 3400R up and running. I did a reset and it went through the process, finally dying with I45 installation failure.

I have clean disks, but do not have a boot image.

I have a diagnostic laptop that I can set up for network access.

The firmware update software (v1.83) does not work, even in debug mode. With all options checked in debug mode it fails saying an active partition cannot be found.

The unit appears to first reset onto 192.168.11.150, but then in failure mode goes to 169.254.11.1

Any thoughts?

I would be happy to reformat the drives in XFS and put whatever files on the drives to make the system happy if that would work.

You guys are lifesavers. I went back trough the disks and repartitioned them to check them again using crystal disk info. I had swapped out a pair of bad drives with new ones and apparently I had mixed one of them up. I was trying to restore everything with a bad drive in place.

Once I got all good drives in place the restore was able to complete. I am currently updating the firmware...it was 1.41 before, but everything looks good.

Thanks again!
