I own a Buffalo Link Station m/n: LS-WX2.0TL/R1. In its OEM state, it came with and was configured to run two 1.0TB drives. When operated as a RAID config'd back up tool, this only offers a max of 1.0TB backup capacity.

Noting there is a very similar model (LS-WX8.0), which comes with four 2TB drives and has a total operating capacity of up to 8.0TB of HDD (4TB RAID), can anyone confirm if I can simply insert higher capacity drives, e.g. two spare 2TB drives into the LS-WX to increase it's operating capacity?

If not achieved via a simple HDD replacement, is there a means to update the firmware (and insert higher capacity drives) to increase the Link Station's drive capacity?

Thanks in advance!
