Hi all. I recently followed the instructions at the bottom of the netcat wiki (?) http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/NetCat-A_UBoot-Friendly_Network_Utility to change the ip addresses used by netcat on my Kurobox HG to match my network (192.168.1.x). (See screenshot Imagefor the commands that I used (sorry - I was dumb and took a photo versus just cut-n-pasting it)).

It only kinda works now...
1) I can start netcat and upon booting my HG I get output to the console on my computer
2) However, when I hit "s" and then return to stop the boot, netcat just drops while the HG continues going as if I hadn't pressed any key.

c:\netcat>nc -u -p 6666 -v 6666 inverse host lookup failed: h_errno 11004: NO_DATA
(UNKNOWN) [] 6666 (?) open
  Device 0: Model: ST3500630A Firm: 3.AAF Ser#: 9QG357WK
            Type: Hard Disk
            Supports 48-bit addressing
            Capacity: 476940.0 MB = 465.7 GB (976773168 x 512)
Boot in 07 seconds ('s' to stop)...s

'?' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I can even stop the HG boot via a long press of the power button but again while I can receive text to my console on my PC, as soon as I try to enter a command netcat drops when I hit return (and the HG doesn't see anything - it'll sit there in a paused boot forever).

I should mention that before I changed the IPs used by netcat on the HG, everything seemed to work fine with the .11.149 and .11.150 addresses that are the default.

Everything else seems to be working fine.

Any ideas as to why it's failing or suggestions to resolve?

Thanks for your help.

Well, I don't know what the hell happened, but I came home today and tried it again, and everything is working fine (including the new IP addresses). I won't question anymore but rather just accept.
