My Problem is i can't see to share out anything to my XP box using samba server.

I see the netbios name in my workgroup but nothing below it? would it be permissions of some sort? please see below -

You should have the following defined too:

[global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
security = user

plus, have you setup the smbpasswd for the users?

Cheers for the reply lb_worm - do i need to setup user access? all i'm looking to do is use locally (as i did defore the freelink) but add DLNA support for the PS3 etc and possibly torrentFlux. I'm not too cocerned about locking this down. if i need to setup user access is this just a case of mounting the samba share with the user and password?

Cheers for your help, sorry for the questions

M

You should use

security = share

to leave it open then.

guest ok = yes

is required in each folder
