I'm preparing a gentoo ebuild in order to use avr_evtd on a gentoo distribution for ppc kuroboxes and linkstations. I seem to have it working. I want to make sure I'm starting with the latest source. Is this the latest URL to use to download the source?:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ppc-evtd/avr_evtd_1.7.2.release.tar.gz

Also, after I started it up, the power button did indeed reboot and shutdown the device as expected. But then I noticed the Power LED is cycling dim-bright-dim-bright about every 2 seconds. Is this from avr_evtd? I don't really see anything about this in the code but I might have missed it. I've never seen my box do this before.

Thanks
russK

preparing an ebuild on gentoo is a bit like setting up the metafiles for bitbake in OpenEmbedded...

I've done this for foonas-lsppchg (although something - in the foonas kernel, I think- prevents it from working exactly right - I do have fan control, at least...).

Did you check your settings for sleep in the avr_evtd configuration file? IIRC, one setting or another can cause the slow green sleep LED... I vaguely remember having a similar situation...?/

faux sleep LED pattern

That was it. I changed TIMER=ON to TIMER=OFF in the configuration file, restarted the daemon, and then the POWER LED changed to solid green.

Thanks for the tip!

russK, can you mark your thread "Solved" in its title?

great!

any chance you'd be posting a testing//pre-release version at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ppc-evtd or anywhere else? I could have a go at it for foonas the sake of the foonas PPC boxes...
