My friend (!!) would like to know if it's easy to update the Freelink image, so if he buggers things up he'd just have to reinstall his personal "image".

Can you just:

flash Freelink
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

(add whatever you want)

then take the disk to one of his kids Edubuntu pruters and zip up the LS's 1st partition

does it work like that?

He would be ever so grateful for all response's in advance

hm. i think it should work with tar...and some options to preserve permissions/user and so on...

tell him to do an dd-backup as well! that definitely will work.

LS1 (2.6 kernel, foonas svn1062, 750 GB, UBoot 1.2) & LS Pro (FreeLink/jtymod/GenLink, changes all the time)
Thx to all donators!
