I'm looking for a way to modify my box without flashing firmware.
Through ACP I've been able to update /etc/init.d/sshd.sh to launch on boot and copy over certs from the array if missing/needed.
This (so far) has been successful and is seemingly static. The results give the impression the firmware is just a stock archive which from what I can tell, creates its own partitions on SDA and decompresses the image there. So far, so good.
Now what I would like to do is install packages such as dnsMasq and a couple other utilities, but I haven't yet set up a machine for cross compiling and was wondering if there's a more simplistic measure to accomplish this (or binaries available somewhere) which don't require modding the firmware?
