Hi Oxygen8,

Do you mean we can load TS1200 firmware into LS421DE?

Let me Google translate your link to see if I understand you correctly. I'm willing to try it! Do I need to do anything first before flashing the TS1200 firmware?

Can you give a simple guide in English?

Hi Oxygen8,

I have a LS421DE with PID=0x0000300C. When I follow the German guide to adjust nas_feature, should I use 0x000300C?

By the way, what is PID=0x0002025? Is it the PID for TS1200D?

sed -i 's/PID=0x0000300B/PID=0x00002025/g' /tmp/nas_feature
sed -i 's/NAS_FEATURE_VERSION=0.0.0B/NAS_FEATURE_VERSION=3.0.0/g' /tmp/nas_feature

Hi Oxygen8,

I have questions in step #5 & #6.

In step #5, my LS421DE has already had 2 hard disks in RAID0 (array1). Do I have to use blank disks?
In step #6, can you explain what do I need to do?

5. Link-Terastation mit leeren Festplatten und E06 starten
6. TFTP der TS1200D per TFTP32 anbieten und per Funktionstaste übertragen Ich hänge das TFTP am Ende dieses Beitrages an.

If I skip steps 5 & 6, the updater software cannot find the NAS...!

Thank you in advance!

you do not need blank disks if you have a backup

the new firmware should use your old raid0 but i have not testet this

but with nonempty disks you have no E06
without E06 you can not tranfer the tftp-files

without the Terastation tftp-files you will not be able to flash the ts-firmware on you linkstation

read about E06 and tftp

translate and use my howto or write down a better and selvtestet way

I have tryed to write a howto with working drives.
Without tfpt it ist not possible
You have to delete all date on the first an second raidpartitions /boot and /
this is possile but not simple
boot is /dev/md0
root is /dev/md1
you have to start this raids on an PC with knoppix- boot-cd an delete the data
example for md1:
http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/buffalo-technology-nas-anleitungen/blaues-blinken-raeparatur-einer-beschaedigten-linkstation-duo-ls-wvl-ls-wxl-t2014.html
do the same with /dev/sda1 (/dev/md0)

I have the same problem appeared after step 1-3.

Hi,

You can use FW 1.90-03 for LS421DE

http://buffalo.jp/download/driver/hd/ls421d_fw-win.html

It works much better than 1.81
