Hi
I have a Buffalo Linkstation Live 2TB and I regularly use it for downloading through the bittorrent manager, however over the last week or so it(d/l) has not been working. I have not changed any settings on the linkstation or bittorrent manager so I cannot work out why it won't download. I haven't made any changes to my anti-virus software either. I have tried intialising and modifying the settings to the download manager and I tried changing the file destination of the torrent, none of these things have worked.
I contacted buffalo support and they asked me to check if the port used by the bittorrent manager was open . Yes it is a open port (checked via http://www.ping.eu./port-chk/).

the logger says: JS error: [778] Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '262' of null

Crux: port is open & UPnP is on Enable, but bittorrent refuses to dnload any files and stays at 0 % [ http://s6.postimg.org/re8x8rwm9/image.jpg ] {http://postimg.org/image/5f2ilkfrx/full/}. As I had mentioned , all was fine all this time but since the upgrade (firmware 1.71 + nasnavigator-2.83) I am expereinecing this issue.

can someone assist me here if possible ?

Thanks

Ellie

Hi

<Is the buffalo client allowed on your tracker?

http://forums.buffalotech.com/index.php?topic=9290.0

http://www.torrent-invites.com/showthread.php?t=222957>

both the above links are dated from 2012...but as I said I was using them as late as end May 2016- begin June 2016. so if the client was banned in 2012...I guess I wouldnt have come so far .

the other link is completely in German and I am very very challenged in German :)
I would try to translate the page you mentioned last.

btw Buffalo supports now advises me to reset the unit. I am sceptical about this...will I loose data(Buffalo says no), but I want to be cautious and dont want to be bitten twice . is reset really going to help, considering ports are open and yet no dnload. I am not very confident with buffalo anymore..maybe some side issues may pop up and then there goes my data too ! :o

OK, you mentioned <try an old fw>

so I need to downgrade , in that case 2 questions:

1) I think I will move back to 1.71 (I am on 1.73)

2) this dngrade , will that effect the linkstation / data / any known issues ?

Thx.

you are right , 1.71 is the max on the indexed sites:

http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/pr ... trade-pro/

but I had logged a call with buffalo about another issue(6 flashing red lights on start up), that time support had send me a dnld link , and I think I had got the 1.73 from there (if I am correct)

if you want I can try and log in to that page again( requires the biffalo call # + serial number of the machine). the machine has gone back and I recd my money , so it would be a lil difficult to get the serial number I guess.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

this logger : [21:39:47] JS error: [778] Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '262' of null ( I am assuming, this is the key to all the issue...I have asked buffalo support too on this)
will update once I get any response.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

you mentioned <try only this flag to flash the old FW>

if I do this , I am afraid I may get into a EMI situation (emergency mode)
I had this about 7 -8 months back , then I had to upgarde to 1.71 to resolve it.

so if I go back in time, I shudder that I may get myself into the emi mode again..?
unless, are we sure that ,that wont happen ?
