Hi All

I have brought a brand new LS-LV model (Buffalo LinkStation Pro 4TB NAS | or 4.0TB LS-V4.0TL) and went to start it for the 1st time yesterday(out of the sealed box).

I already have a similiar model (LS-LV) - 3tb and this is working just fine (this one is directly connected to my router- & with firmware = latest 1.71). so basically I am adding another linkstation to my network (I am on a windows 7 machine) .

1) I connected the LS-LV to my switch, put the Power switch(linkstation) only to 'on' (not auto) & started the linkstation. after the start , I see the linkstation flasing 6 times red and it goes on continuosly.

I checked with the Nasnavigator(also the latest version 04-06-2015 from the buffalo website :http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/products/storage-devices/consumer-nas/linkstationtm-consumer-nas/archive/linkstationtm-trade-pro/#prettyPhoto), I can not see this new machine at all.

2) Hereafter, I connected this new LS-LV model directly to my router (detaching the old one) and repeated point # 1. the same again :flasing 6 times red(small gap & again 6 times red) and goes continuosly like this.

Once again I checked with the Nasnavigator, I can not see this new machine at all and neither can I deduce any error message , basically this new device is just invisible for me.

3) I searched on the net and came out with little , except that I then tried the function button. keeping it pressed, I started the new LS-LV model, the function lamp starts to flicker blue, then after 5 -6 seconds , I repressed the function button , the LS-LV model starts with the blue light flicker(indication lamp), but after 10-20 secnds ...the same again : "flasing 6 times red(small gap & again 6 times red) and goes continuosly like this."

and once again no joy in discovering this machine with the Nasnavigator.

so here's my plight :)

-is the unit broken ?
-is it something like a known issue here
- can I do anything to make this machine visible on the dashboard and maybe put the last 1.71 firmware on it

-or do I return this unit to the dealer and ask for my refund.

can anyone shed some light here for me please :)

Thx.
