1.71 is bugged out for me with transmission on a QVL and WVL (got access to a second buffalo NAS, a friend let me mod his :P)

All i'd like to request is some instructions on how to update transmission myself, on the 1.69 firmware - or an updated build with the latest transmission. (having some issues with magnet links, supposedly fixed in transmission 2.92)

Edit:

That worked, thanks Oxygen8. Wanted to play it safe since my first attempt didn't work - but it was because i left putty on the default port of 22, when this required port 2222.

After that a simply copy pate of your code worked fine and the "2.84 latest" now loads 2.92 :)

Slightly off topic -but i wonder if anyone can help me - just reformatted my box (LS-QVL) and reinstalled firmware "1.69-Peace"

When i log in via SSH i get this error before i have even typed anything
-bash: -ne: command not found

i know very littel about linux or ssh and
google is not helping with something so generic

I am trying to reinstall rtorrent and i think this issue is stopping the autorun script as it also gives this same error even tho the file/path is correct
I had it all running last time so i am unsure what is wrong this time
Any help/suggestions?

edit
-------------------------------------
with some mucking around it seems that if i change to the directory of the start up script "/opt/etc/init.d"
and then run it with ./ in front it runs - but i have no idea what this means

eg -
Code:
root@NasNameHere:/# cd /opt/etc/init.d

root@NasNameHere:/opt/etc/init.d# ls
S57rsyncd*  S99rtorrent*

root@NasNameHere:/opt/etc/init.d# S99rtorrent
-bash: S99rtorrent: command not found

root@NasNameHere:/opt/etc/init.d# ./S99rtorrent
Usage: /opt/etc/init.d/rtorrent {start|stop|restart|force-reload}

Is that normal?
I thought i could use the full path and run it from anywhere before

eg:
root@NasNameHere:/# /opt/etc/init.d/S99rtorrent restart

Yes with GaryT's firmware there is now an NFS section under network where you can turn on the service and assign the NFS shares. This appears to turn on the service and assign the shares, since I can see them from a remote system, but I can't seem to connect to them. Though it might be the hosts.allow file but creating it and blowing it wide open changes nothing. So I think there's something else missing.

I have the same problem. I have enabled NFS, setup a path and clients but I am unable to access the NFS share. I have tired to mount it on my VMWare ESXi 6 server, Ubuntu Server, and even tried a Windows NFSclient. I keep getting denied by the NFS server. I am able to see the path, but the server won't allow me to mount it.

Anyone help me work out why my flexget suddenly stopped working?

The log has an error
---
WARNING inputs task_name Error during input plugin rss: Unable to download the RSS for task task_name (https://xxx.com/torrents/rss?u=xxxxxxx; ... s;download): Can't connect to HTTPS URL because the SSL module is not available.
---

I have no idea why the SSL module is not available/working - or where it is to be fixed?
All i can think of is a power outage has corrupted something?

maybe the server now uses a newer version of ssh

example
linkstation

Quote:
# ssh -V
OpenSSH_3.7.1p2, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.8ze 15 Jan 2015

newer version with optware
Code:
ipkg install openssh

Quote:
# ssh -V
OpenSSH_5.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8v 19 Apr 2012

I'd like to explore using the LS-WVL and this firmware for usenet downloads. Is that possible?

I read an old thread here about getting nzbget onto the NAS: viewtopic.php?t=9206

and this: viewtopic.php?t=26455

But those instructions are pretty old and I'm also not sure if they apply to this custom firmware.

If it's possible to get nzbget running can someone help walk me through the steps or link me to instructions? I have no knowledge of terminal commands, I generally find instructions online and copy/paste them into a terminal window.

Hi, I'm trying to ssh into the NAS with root but I can't work out what the password is.

I thought it's the same password as admin for webgui but that didn't work.

Managed to get it working, I must've gotten the ssh port wrong.
