type ldd /usr/sbin/minidlnad

remember path of a linked file

start minidlnad and remember the missing filename
search for misding file
find / -name missingfilenamehere
copy the found file to the other files location
like
cp /opt/lib/libflac.so.0 /usr/lib/libflac.so.0

do this for each missing file

one time hard work but thats worth

good luck - please report

Well, Now from my iPad I can see the miniDLNA server and all my videos.
I can play them with no problem, BUT with NO subtiles :(
That was the propose of this install
My files are like this:
the_name_of_video.avi
the_name_of_video.srt

I try with buzzplayer in my Ipad, WMP in windows.
any idea?

Thanks

Hi,

.srt files are supported by minidlnad

can you see subtitles if you play the movie from local media.
are the any special characters in filename
try
1.avi
1.srt

or try
2.mkv
2.srt

on minidlnad website i read something like: srt support is client specific ??

I have gettext 0.18.3

I got the issue resolved by creating the files :p who needs all these languages if I will only use english :D

I have another issue though, miniDLNA is not scanning my media files, I have pointed the correct folders in the config file but it is still not doing the scan, is there anyway to trigger the scan manually?

This worked, Thank you. I was trying to start minidlna instead of minidlnad

I am trying to get this autostart with the linkstation but I couldn't so far.

I have created the .sh file and linked it to the extensions.d folder but this still didn't work. Any ideas?

upload my files tomorrow

copy the file into
/opt/etc/init.d/S99minidlnad.sh

and
/etc/init.d/minidlnad.sh

it is the same file - you cant link with ln if you want

Thank you for the file.

I have replaced the .sh with this and copied as you mentioned, but the server still didn't start with the NAS, any way to troubleshoot the boot process? a log file maybe to see if the startup script has been hit?

Thanks

hi,

put the file in /etc/init.d/minidlnad.sh

chmod 755 /etc/init.d/minidlnad.sh

change minidlna.sh to your needs:
eg: CONF=/etc/minidlna.conf

create minidlna.conf and edit to your needs

try manual: /etc/init.d/minidlnad.sh start (you can start minidlnad with -D in debug mode, mabe give some hints)

put the file into /opt/etc/init.d/extensions/S99minidlnad.sh or link it to here

good luck

Hi My friend,

these steps are exactly what I did earlier, but it didn't get miniDLNA to start with workstation. the script I have works just fine with the start / stop / and the restart, but my issue is with the auto start :(

I will try the -D option and see if that works

Hi,

looks like hard work :-)

have a look here:
/etc/init.d/rcS

in optware is correct installed at the end of the file found something like
# Optware setup
[ -x /etc/init.d/rc.optware ] && /etc/init.d/rc.optware start

check if /etc/init.d/rc.optware is present
open file and check if /opt/etc/init.d/S??* is present

not smat but working solution is:
add
/etc/minidlnad.sh start
at the end of /etc/init.d/rcS
