Hi, I am trying to install miniDLNA in my buffalo LS pro duo.
I am follwoing this topic http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/buffalo-techn ... t1130.html
but I have an error with gettext
file requires the infrastructure from gettext-0.18 but this version is older. Please upgrade to gettext-0.18 or newer.

I am needing a DLNA that support external subtitles.
any idea how to fix this?

Thanks

Get the source code of gettext 0.18 and compile it
as well? Be aware that you will need to compile the
ARM "version" of the source code.

Code:
ipkg remove gettext

then compile it from
http://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/gettext/gettext-0.18.3.tar.gz

You either compile it on your PC or on the box itself.
For your PC, you need a running Linux distribution and a
matching toolchain for the LS. The process is called "cross
compile".
For the compilation on the box itself, you need to use the
GCC provided by ipkg, as well as some other packages
also provided by ipkg (like make, autoconf, ...).
Then just do a "make configure" and if that succeeds, a
"make". If that succeeds as well, do a "make install" or set
the include path of your failing miniDLNA makefile to the
path of the includes of the new gettext and the library path
to the compiled lib of the new gettext.

I think that I will try to compile it in my Buffalo.
Can you tell me which software do I need to compile it?
I have installed gcc and make but it tells me that I need gettext-runtime
Thanks

What does the content of "config.log" say?

Assumption:
All the packages are missing, which are declared as "missing"
in config.log (like autoconf, automake, ...).
You will need to install these via ipkg.

Hi, try this and report

ipkg update
ipkg upgrade
ipkg install gcc make libexif libjpeg libid3tag flac libogg libvorbis sqlite ffmpeg autoconf automake cvs perl coreutils

download gettext >.18
./configure
make
make install

/opt/share/automake-n.nn/Automake/Config.pm
change line 32
our $perl_threads = 1;
... to
our $perl_threads = 0;

mv /opt/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib/libpthread-2.5.so /opt/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib/libpthread-2.5.so.orig
ln -s /lib/libpthread-2.5.so /opt/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib/libpthread-2.5.so

adding /opt/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf

cd minidlna
./autogen.sh
./configure LIBS=-liconv
make
make install

Regards
