Why 3.4.101?

The interfaces in procfs have changed. The scripts used to control the LEDs on the LS-WXL I found are using files within /proc/ to read and write status informations and control the LEDs appropriately. Since I am not a kernel hacker (and just know C enough to correct obvious compiler errors), I stuck to the kernel version that still fits Buffalo's way of using procfs.

Despite reading posts of the WVL- and similar - I wasn't able to figure out why XFS is broken when using a kernel I compiled. I finally decided to dump XFS, convert my LinkStation with the help of a custom linuxrc and then boot into my (then newly created) debian wheezy.

So i was wondering if you are still active on this?
Have you tried a newer kernel?

I'm stuck at patching the kernel, mostly because the patches are for old kernels.

I run on a whezzy with a stock krenel 3.3.4-88f6281 from mod1 v1.69. And it wouldn't seem wise to go back to an older debian/kernel just to get tun/tap (my main goal).

P.S.
Your kernel patch for 3.4.101 is huge (23 MB of text...).
