Hi,

I've successfully installed a debian wheezy on my LS-CHLv1. If somebody is interested on how to do it I've put some information on the wiki. You can find it here

cheers

Hi,

I've updated the fan control script on the LS-CHL wiki page and added an init script for Debian Wheezy, hope this is helpful!

Ash

May you please tell me what's the available recent version of MySQL server in debian wheezy for arm?

Thanks a lot.

Sorry for silly question; can I upgrade MySQL server from 5.0 to 5.5 on default firmware 1.65 without installing Debian?

The wiki article assumes you will be installing a fresh hard drive. is there a way of installing Wheezy on a LS-CHLv1 without physically accessing the box?

I'm running stock firmware V1.07 which was opened using acp-commander. I've not updated the firmware since as I didn't want to lose ssh access (or any of my custom scripts).

Running uname -a gives me:
uname -a wrote:
Linux BUFFALO 2.6.22.7 #369 Mon Feb 23 17:13:17 JST 2009 armv5tejl unknown

/etc/debian_version doesn't exist.

I'm not fussed about keeping the data as everything has been migrated off onto a new Synology NAS. I want to use the Buffalo as a LAMP dev box.

What's my best approach?

Hi,

I've posted some more information for running Debian on this device here:

http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=28441

Which I hope I've made quite easy to follow. I will consider adding this to the wiki if it is useful/nobody disagrees!

OK. I got the installer to boot. All good. But how the hell does it connect to the internet if it is still connected to my computer? Bridged mode doesnt work neither does it over my router. I even setup my router DHCP to use the 192.168.11.* range so it finds the damn thing.....
*frustraded*

Been a while! OK - I decided to trash the Hard drive in the LS-CH1 and install a fresh clean Debian Wheezy install based on the excellent wiki. Thank you very much - it will hopefully have a long and happy life as a dedicated VPN gateway.
