Hi I have the LS1
Model Name
LS-CHL F/W 1.12

I have tried too enable ssh using commander.jar
Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop>java -jar acp_commander.jar -t 192.168.2.
180 -o
ACP_commander out of the nas-central.org (linkstationwiki.net) project.
Used to send ACP-commands to Buffalo linkstation(R) LS-PRO.

WARNING: This is experimental software that might brick your linkstation!

Using random connID value = 276D6E8C6BD5
Using target:   LS-CHL093/192.168.2.180
Starting authentication procedure...
Sending Discover packet...
Found:  LS-CHL093 (/192.168.2.180)      LS-CHL(HANZEI) (ID=00016)       mac: 00:

Trying to authenticate EnOneCmd...      ACP_STATE_OK
start telnetd...
Reset root pwd...

You can now telnet to your box as user 'root' providing no / an empty password.

Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop>telnet 192.168.2.180
Connecting To 192.168.2.180...Could not open connection to the host, on port 23:
 Connect failed

But as you can see no joy are there any other ways ?

Did you check if there is a "telnetd" executable on your box
at all? You can use acp_commander for this too. The command
line parameter "-c" is your friend here.
Look into /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, /local/usr/bin and
/local/usr/sbin.
If there is none, you need to extract a telnetd from an earlier
firmware and put it on your box.
If there is one, start it and retry.
No telnetd -> no telnet connection.
