Hey got me a 500gb Buffalo Linkstation and it all hooked up fine and I can see it on my network.

But I was told I was able to download stuff off the internet from a bit-torrent client and then just turn my PC off.

So turned on u-torrent and downloaded something then just turned my pc off, But went to open the files and they never downloaded, and just says error on u-torrent

Is there something else I have to do, any settings or what? The linkstation is named L/drive so changed the u-torrent directory to this as well.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Buffalo Linkstation, u-torrent, windows 7. Sky router.

Are you using the "auto" mode on your box?
If yes, this is the reason why it is not working. You need at least one
client running to keep the box alive in "auto" mode.

No its set to the ON mode.

Do I have to change anything in the u-torrent settings apart from file location, or anything with my router?

Or do I need to un-instal u-torrent from my C drive and re-instal on my drive that is Drivestation. ?

Thanks again

You did use the torrent installed on the LS, didn't you?
There is a dedicated config page in the web interface of
the LS-CHL.

LOL

Got it sorted didnt realise I had to use an online based torrent program.

But now another problem:

When I want to download files from a site that uses RAR files and you have to extract after download it wont start on the webpage, it just sits there saying downloading.

But if I use a website: eg kickasstorrents, it has no problem starting.

DIDIDAVE, Uses RAR files and it wont start getting the seeds or leeches, but no error message.
kickasstorrents, does not use RAR files and you are actually downloading the 1 file, and it has no problem.

Again am I doing something wrong?

Thanks again for the help

I do not use torrents with my LS.
But I read somewhere that the build in client of the LS is blocked
by some torrent sites (don't ask me why).
Others said this could be solved by installing transmission.
