what is latest firmware available for LS-CHL V1 modified with the support telnet or ssh?

I followed this guide to install transmission
http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/buffalo-technology-nas-anleitungen/transmission-auf-der-linkstation-live-und-pro-ls-chlv2-ls-xhl-ls-vl-mit-rotem-webinterface-t749.htm
where it is recommended to install 1.64 mod1.

It all works fine :D , but if more than 10 active torrent transmission becomes slow, slow to load web interface etc. ..

in this guide
http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=22891%20
1.37 mod1 say to install, but is very old compared to the latest available.

Last FW officer if I'm not mistaken is the 1.60, there is a modified version for this?

Thaks for help

There is no 1.6x for the CHLv1.
And the box will always slow down with 10 streams concurrently.
It simply has not enough power to deal with more.
You bought the low cost model and you get low cost performance.
It's as simple as that. Sorry.

I downgrade the firmware 1.60 mod 1

I installed the package Optware "cs05q3armel" as specified on this page
http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/Ipk ... nkstation_ (for_end-users) # ARM
instead of the 'cs08q1armel'

now is much better! performance now are extremely reasonable. :biglol:

the problem is a memory from task manager:
CPU usage 20/30%
33-39 of 50 mb RAM (this is the problem!)

there is a job to free/clean up ram? or a job to restart the NAS once a day? :?

Thanks!

cs08q1armel is optimized for your Kirkwood.
cs05q3arme is optimized for the old Orion.

I can not believe, that not optimized code is running better then optimized.

I do not understand, what you can not believe?

the CPU of the LS-CHLv1 is Marvell Orion 88F5182 right?

the package is optimized for Orion cs05q3armel and not the cs08q1armel.

so now 1.60 + cs05q3armel it seems is much better than 1.64 + cs08q1armel.

There remains the problem of the ram 39/50mb ...

Seems as if you are the first one, getting 1.6x working on an
Orion based box.
According to Buffalo, this "should" not be possible due to a
different GPIO layout to the Kirkwood based boxes.
???

I still do not understand ... maybe I'm missing something :?

From this page you can download the latest official firmware 1.60 LinkStation Live - LS-CHL:
http://www.buffalotech.com/products/net ... ive-ls-chl

is written in the note "Firmware version 1.60 - Windows Updater. LS-XHL and LS-CHL (v2)"

then both the LS-CHLv1 and "LS-XHL and LS-CHL (v2)" uses the same version, right?

obviously not with the performance put forth!

The problem is the RAM, the CPU is always between 20/50% almost never 100% even if it is 266Mhz Clock Speed.
Although I have seen that on other nas shows the frequanza of 500mhz, can be overcloked?

my steps were these:
I read this guide to install transmission
http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/buffalo-techn ... -t749.html

I have upgrade the LinkStation Live - LS-CHL to Ulitmate official version 1.6, the telnet not work

I have flash the FM 1.64 mod 1 + install ipkg cs08q1armel, everything worked but after a few days and 20 torrent trasmission has become very slow :?

I found other information on other posts, such as:
 - "1.63-MOD1 Changes Added CHLv2 Support (Buffalo Removed after 1.60)" from which I assume that 1.60 is best for ls-chl.
- Ipkg optimized for Orion is cs05q3armel

so

I try:
- Downgrade to 1.60 mod 1
- Restore factory settings
- Format HD
- Install ipkg cs05q3armel

and now I have 30 active torrents and everything works more acceptable

Then I also saw that with FM 1.60 is the bittorrent client, so you might not even need to install trasmission but i like it.

PS My model is LS-CH1.0TL.

No, you have V2

Try

Code:
cat /proc/cpu

and
Code:
cat /proc/meminfo

on V1 you have 266 Bogomips and 128MB Ram

on V2:

Code:

I was sure to have the V1, is written "LS-CH1.0TL" on the label.

but..

Code:
root@Nas:~# cat /proc/cpu
cat: read error: Is a directory
root@Nas:~#
root@Nas:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor       : Feroceon 88FR131 rev 1 (v5l)

I apologize to everyone for the misunderstanding. :p
is only 1 month that I bought used this nas and I do not have much knowledge with linux.

...
LS-CH1.0TL = LS-CHL with 1.0TB HDD
LS-CH2.0TL = LS-CHL with 2.0TB HDD
