Hi,

I've been using as much of the info as i can find on here to help with a new HDD in my LS-CHL v2, but still struggling.

Please could someone help guide me as to a resolution? I think the following steps should be needed:

1. Remove HDD and remove all partitions i.e. flat format (1.0TB drive)
2. Reinstall in enclosure
3. Set PC static IP to 192.168.11.1, subnet 255.255.255.0.
4. Run TFTP boot - HELP! which version should i use?
5. Run LS Updater - HELP! which version should i use?

I've previously tried using TFTP 1.24 All Models and LSUpdater 1.31 Mod 1 from Shonk, and this detected all ok, ran through some installation procedures but got stuck rebooting - think this may be because i had tried to replicate partitions in Linux (but done it wrong!).

Any guidance would be most appreciated!

Thanks

Andy

Thanks oxygen.

Should I follow the process I’ve described? Unfortunately I can’t read the German post it’s from!

Hi oxygen,

I've just tried what you put down....

Went all through firmware update etc, then rebooted and got stuck with the 6 flashing red lights again.

Just sat in a loop - then when I hit the function button it went back into "linkstation booting" for the 1200seconds....!

Any ideas what ive done wrong?!

[Edit] Also, its now coming up with orange lights, 2 slow, then 5 quick...

Andy

try this tftp:
http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/resources/file/580

with a nonpartitioned disk you have to use the Debugoption "Rebuild partition table"
do this only once
in the second run flash without this option

EDIT
Orange LED is good
do not flash again
wait

I do believe you are a genius oxygen.

There is me thinking orange is bad and its busted, but after some waiting (and emailing you back), it restarted and recognized in nasnavi.....PERFECT!
