few days back i tried to reset my NAS to factory defaults after wiping the drive i got the 6 red lights

reading a few posts advice was to start with hdd with no partitions use TFTP Boot Recovery 1.53 - then run the updater with the options on right selected in debug mode

the problem i have is no matter what firmware update i use 1.60 or 1.68 after formatting, partitions and firmware transfer without error, after reboot the linkstation has the quick blue flash then back to 6 red lights

should i be using an alternate firmware and then upgrade once working or should i be able to do with the official firmware from downloads

Having carefully followed Shonks excellent advice in

“Tftp boot it with 1.53
update it to buffalo 1.53
reboot it a few times to make sure it reboots ok
if it red lights the first time
just tftp boot it again and it should be fixed the next reboot
if it isnt just update it to buffalo 1.53 again

once it survives a reboot your good….”

this works to some point, i can restart via web ui and get the steady blue light :) - but if i switch off linkstation at button at back i get the 6 red lights on next power on :( how can i get it so if i switch off it boots to steady blue light with out haveing to tftp again each time the unit is powered off

Thx T
