Help or advice needed
I have a Terastation TS-XEL with 4 2 TB discs in RAID 5 (2011).
Last week 2 of the 4 discs failed. I replaced (hot swapped) the 2 discs but still the systems stays in degrade mode and replies that both new discs are in error.

Is there a step that I missed?

And although the discs are brand new, is it wise to replace the new discs for new ones?
System has 2 TB Barracuda discs and I replaced the fault discs with new 2 TB Barracudas but slightly newer of course.

You have to format the new drives with your NAS and then you can add them to the raid.

But you can not rebuild the raid.
Raid5 with 4 drives
Only one drive can fail

Create a new raid an restore your backup
