My Kurobox HG died after I tried to upgrade ubuntu, so now I'm trying to set it up again.
The only way to install a debian/ubuntu directly on it, from the foonas-em, witout resorting to pre-built images would be to use deboostrap, and that's what I want to do
However, deboostrap requires wget, chroot and ar. Foonas-em doesn't come with ar enabled, not the pre-compiled busybox images I could find.
I tried to build foonas-em from the source, but it the build process has a lot of bugs and I went across one compile error I was unable to resolve.
Also tried to build busybox, but I was unable to find out how to set up the cross compiler for powerpc.
I also wasn't able to get any ar binary directly on the box. When I tried to run an ar binary, it complained of syntax error ( wtf ???!!!! )
So now I'm pretty stuck ... next I'm going to focus on setting up the cross compiler to try to compile busybox (with can be updated on the fly), since that looks the easyest way to get ar, and thus debootstrap working on foonas-em.
Would really appreciate ideas regarding that problem.
Thanks a lot,
