You should try something like this:
java -jar acp_commander.jar -t 192.168.2.3 -ip 192.168.2.3 -pw password -c "ls /"
Replace the "password" with the password you use for user
admin and the web interface.
You ARE sure that 192.168.2.3 is the right IP address? (and
it is NOT automatically the right IP address because your
router displays this address in his DHCP leases; a router will
keep leases for days (3600 minutes))
The IP address is correct because I'm able to get root access via browser when the drive appears on the network.
Running acp_commander right after the drive boots works fine (with that IP address) -- it can find it on the network.
But once it disappears, acp_commander fails:
A SocketTimeoutException usually indicates bad firewall settings.
Check especially for *UDP* port 22936 and make sure that the connection to your LS is working.
ERROR: Exception: SocketTimeoutException (Receive timed out) [ACP Send/Receive (Packet:8020 = ACP_Discover)]
So at first read it looks like something with the firewall settings. I'm running AVG Internet Security. But to test, I turned off AVG firewall completely, and I still cannot find the drive on the network, either via Win Explorer, acp_commander, or NAS Navigator.
