They have integrated

6 pids into the firmware

ProductID = 0x00000011
ProductID2 = 0x00000012
ProductID3 = 0x00000013
ProductID4 = 0x00000014
ProductID5 = 0x00003006
ProductID6 = 0x00003007

on a rebuild partition table update the linkstation gets confused
which uImage to use in the img file

0x00000011 uImage-88f6281.buffalo
0x00000012 uImage-88f6281.buffalo
0x00000013 uImage-88f5182.buffalo
0x00000014 uImage-88f6281.buffalo
0x00003006 uImage-88f6281.buffalo
0x00003007 uImage-88f6281.buffalo
0x00000015 uImage-88f6281.buffalo

and results in a soft brick
to bring it back up you have to tftp
uImage-88f6281.buffalo named as uImage.buffalo
and initrd.buffalo
all from the 1.26 firmware

I have fixed my updater as I dont own an LS-SL so there is no need for uImage-88f5182.buffalo to be there

on a side note someone with a chl v1 should be able to get this going if they delete uboot
and extract uImage-88f5182.buffalo and use as uImage.buffalo
in the ini file

only for the brave/know what they are doing as i dont have a chl v1 to test

Hi Shonk,
May I ask what you meant? I just found out that CHLv1 utilize the 88F5182 also.

However since LS-SL is duo disk NAS, doubt the the rootfs from this update for LS-SL can work with CHLv1 (I also got 1 LS-SL, it like LS Mini LS-WSL but I have no idea what the difference are). Do we need to adjust any in the update?

Currently I have some spare CHLv1 and no problem if I can give it a try, could you please enlighten me on this?

Waiting for your replies... :up:

No problem, I don't use them anyway.... could you please make a build for CHLv1 for me, I will give a try (I recovered tons of Buffalo NAS via TFTP so pls assume that I'm familiar with these things and go with your build) :biglol: :biglol:

And,,, 88F5182 is Orion, not Kirkwood based? Pls correct me if I'm wrong... :D

I got it, thank Shonk, will try it asap (seems that MF need time to check this such huge file so it blocked downloading previously).

Hi Shonk,
It doesn't work, I tried many times and seems that the kernel itself can not load from CHLv1 (seems mach_type is not correct).

I run the LSUpdater and it's fine to transfer firmware to CHLv1, then it reboots, then CHLv1 reports error with E06 ==> kernel not found.

I manually reboot the CHLv1 but plugging out the power.
It reboot again then perform firmware extraction ==> orange code 25
Done extraction and ... report error again !

So... I will try another way to flash this firmware to CHLv1...
