I have an LS-Q4.0TL/R5 LinkStation, with four brand-new, completely blank, 2TB each hard disks inside. I do not have the original disks. I have the LinkNavigator CD, and have installed LinkNavigator, but it does not recognize my LS from the network because it has no firmware installed whatsoever. I tried to use PuTTY to SSH and Telnet connect to the LS, with no response. The Firmware Updater does not work because it, again, cannot find the LS on the network.

From what I understand, I cannot install FreeLink or Debian or other alternate firmwares for my LS, since it is not recognizable on the network due to its lack of any OS.
I don't care whether I install FreeLink or the stock firmware, I just want a working NAS.

What can I do?

Thank you, it worked perfectly, following FAQ 2 and 3 from somewhere about how to perform the TFTP.
I installed the firmware, and connected the NAS to the network, where the visual browser interface finally appeared and worked from there.

Thanks for your help.

Just wondering, did you get 4 2tb drives working in the NAS?

I have the Quad TL/R5 that came with 4 1tb drives, and would love to upgrade them, if it works.
