Unfortunately Buffalo is known for problems like this (bad
user experiences for serious problems; especially a GUI not
sufficient to recover anything serious).
To run a Buffalo NAS without UPS is unreasonably hazardous.
Running a RAID 0 on a Buffalo box is even worse.
There are other vendors for small NAS systems, not having
this kind of problems.
So it is not a matter of the CPU but the manufacturer.
Sorry to kick a man already lying on the ground.
Btw. and not related to your problem, RAID 0 is always a bad
idea, nowadays. If you need speed, take SSDs.
