Hmmm. Here is a weird problem. I am in the process of moving data from my Terastation and a few external USBs into a linkstation. The weird part is:

A 500GB FAT USB drives mounts OK to the Linkstation
A 1TB EXT3 External USB does NOT mount to the Linkstation, but mounts OK on the Terastation (1st Gen!), even after a re-format

I've re-started both drives several times and no go.

Jeez. Don't tell me the Linkstation has some limit on the size of a mounted USB external drive???

I, too, would be very interested in the answer to this question.

I guess since the Linkstation can support up to 4TB, I just assumed it could support large USB drives. However while it recognizes my 4TB USB expansion drive, it will not format it or, if I format it on another device, use it.

This is sort of baffling. How is one supposed to backup more than 1TB of data if it will only accept a 1TB USB drive?

LS-QVL can support more than 2TB with FW >1.40
LS-QL do not support 4096 byte per sector drives
