Dear Forum Members,

I have a Link-Station Mini ( LS-WSX1.0TL/R1 ) with one defect 500GB HDD.
So instead of replacing the defect 500GB I was thinking about upgrading to 2x 1TB.
Therefore I bought 2x 1TB Western Digital HDD ( WD10JPVX ) and installed them in the housing.

After TFTP Booting the device and installing the stock 1.65 firmware ( with formatting of hard drives ), the device now hangs in the booting process with Error 6 ( red light is blinking 6 times - HDD's not recognized ).

Does anyone has any experience in upgrading disks within a LS-Mini?!

Any advise appreciated!

Thank you & Best Regards, Markus.

A time consuming process described by some users here,
would suggest to put the 500 GB disk back into the box,
put one of the 1TB disks with it and let the box recover the
second disk. The remove the 500 GB disk and replace it with
the second 1TB disk and let the box recover the disk again.
You will then have a 2x500 GB config.
Now delete the RAID, reboot and create the RAID again.
Should be a 2x1TB RAID now.

@MarkusCologne
Did the method described by @kenatonline worked for you?

Hi. Would anyone has an idea if 2 x 2TB (Seagate Momentus SpinPoint ST2000LM003) will work with the current FW 1.71. We will be following the one drive at a time step to upgrade and see what happens. Thank you All.

Glad to report back upgrading to 2TBx2 went well. Copying 500GB folders and the box is barely warm. Could not believe 4TB on this little palm size raid enclosure. Can only wish there are other 2.5" drive raid NAS out there. Thanks ALL.
