From what I can tell, it appears that Buffalo has discontinued this great device. So my question is, are there any similar NAS devices on the market right now? Using laptop drives with small form factor and lower power consumption, capable of RAID1, and hackable OS?

I've had mine for > 6 years now and hopefully can continue to keep it alive, but it doesn't look like there are any alternatives out there.
