I want to update my LS Mini LSWSGL from firmware 1.05 to the most recent 1.06 (and obviously the last one built from Buffalo, years ago.) The reason for that is, that I hope to have some enhancements from the following change: Solve media file compatibility with some specific DLNA clients. But in general I do not have any major troubles for years with the 1.05.

This is the question:
Does the firmware update keep all my settings? I haven't found a "save/restore settings" dialog in the web GUI. I haven't found any comments on this in forums and google. Only thing I found is the requirement to de-check the checkmark "Update BOOT" in the LSUpdate debug window, otherwise everything will be lost.

Thus I am assuming that de-checking "Update BOOT" will keep all my settings?
If not, I would have to take dozens of screenshots in the web GUI in order to remember my settings, right?

(My files are all backuped, so this is not the question - but it would be nice too, to keep the RAID1 with the files;-)

Thank you very much for your advice.

Did it. I took risk. And the answer is Yes: all the settings are kept.
I did not uncheck "Update Boot". I kept all debug settings as is (default) but DHCP client. I checked it, since my network is using DHCP client and the DHCP server assigns a fixed address to the LS Mini. I switch the power switch from AUTO to ON before starting the upgrade from Win7.
So everything is fine :D
