The device is not visible over the network, and there is not a serial port to ssh into

1- Hardware appears to run normally... no red flashing lights, beeping sounds, scraping noises etc.
2- NasiNav will (latest Mac & PC versions) will not see the device over a known good direct ethernet cable, nor over a local hub/switch with access to the DHCP server

I have attempted data recovery via a long list of other solution paths. Those are documented here:
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=26299&p=158305&hilit=LS+W1.0TGL%2FR1+network+access#p158305

1- Is there a way to use USB as a serial port? I have never tried it. I will attempt any advice given on Ubuntu (Wintel box)
2- Is there a way to reset the network settings without risking the user data on the drives?

Does the DHCP server records a DHCP request from the LS?

Any kind of network traffic when connected directly to the PC?
If not, the probability of damaged network interface is high.
Unfortunately the USB ports are not "serial" ports. You have to
open the case and solder some stuff to get serial access.
