Hello,

I have a little problem. I have a Linkstation Mini WSXL, running a 1.54 Mod Shonk Firmware. This FW has the 2.6.31.8 Kernel but unfortunately (as far as I can see) there is one important thing missing that I need for one of the devices I want to use with my LS-Mini: The usbserial module.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem and/ or can anyone provide me a HOWTO to solve this?
Just for the level of help: I am not an expert (I know some basics) on Linux but I will try to improve my knowledge.

I appreciate your help.

Thank you

I am also very interested.
I wish to use smargo readers with oscam on a LS-VL.

Hallo kenatonline!
Have you time to compile a kernel?

Sorry, but my LS-VL died last month and is currently on its RMA way
to Buffalo.
Due to this, I do not have a spare LS for development atm. Did you
had a look at the kernel I built for someone else, if the necessary
modules are already there?

Thank You.
I will try it.

What was the problem with your ls-vl.

I had killed my LS-XHL with connecting an externel 2,5" USB HDD.

Hello,

thank you for the answer. Unfortunately the modules I need are not included in the archive.

Kind regards

The disk of the LS-VL died.
Fortunately the smartctl sent a warning beforehand and I was able to rescue
all of my data.

Luckily you got the warning in time, or else RAID wouldn't have looked such a bad option now..
