Hello,

I'm new to the forum, and maybe that is why I did not find topic related to this.
I have a Linkstation Mini LS-WSGL/R1 with Firmware version 1.06.Currently using RAID 1 - this is the main purpose I bought it.
To simulate broken HDD, I removed all the partitions of one of the HDD and put it back. To my surprise the device will not rebuild the RAID automatically , but just notified me that there is a problem :
Quote:
An error in a RAID Array has been detected.
This model does not support exchange HDD and rebuilding RAID array.
Please contact the local agency describing in the manual or our web site.

Otherwise device is working fine with one HDD and I can access all my data including the external HDD attached on the USB port.

Can you please help and recommend a document/link how to rebuild the RAID manually in case of broken HDD? I use the original Buffalo firmware version 1.06, which I think is the latest for this model.

Thanks in advance,

Basically you'll need fdisk or dd, plus mdadm. Now read man pages for them.
