Guys, just got my new kuro pro running with one of western digital’s new one terabyte green power disks.
Power usage seems to be around 15 watts under load and falls right down to 12 watts at idle! Very quiet too.

I’m using a cheap power meter, but seems reasonably accurate.

The disk:

Good to see you read my suggestion. These drives are very good for low power requirements.

Any stats on what a non-green power HD + KuroPro uses?

I don't have any other spare disks about, but when I do I will pull it out and do another reading.

A 500GB none green runs at 17W and 14W at idle; an older 350GB ran at 19W. I have a few 1TBs and will post info on these too if required?
