It looks like Transend do a SATA drive that plugs straight into the PCIExpress:

To be honest, I've never checked to see if the kuropro's uboot can see something plugged into that device.

It just now occurs to me that I have a small-form-factor storage device that might fit in there ... with 8GB storage.

Its been a while since I've used my kuropro, but I have a netconsole enabled uboot in it, so it would be interested to query the uboot for all available busses.

Your question is, therefore, an excellent and interesting one... ;)

I think the answer is probably: If uboot can see the storage device in question, then you can boot from it. I'll look at it when I get a chance to.
