Hi! Anything new about the sources? The problem is, that miconapl doesn't work:
Quote:
err: RecvPacket: readlen=0.
The stock kernel contains in /proc a file which contains the needed features/informations.

i will go the official way following this document:
http://www.buffalo-technology.com/suppo ... ELINES.doc

i REALLY do not like that they did not nothing. especially that they haven`t released the sourcecode for the uboot bootloader.....which is clearly licenced under the GPL.

i`ll request the sourcecode by sending out some cds + money for:

1) Linkstation Pro DUO
2) Terastation Pro II Rackmount

i would like to request more (LS LGL, LS HGL, Kurobox Slim) but these boxes are not available in europe.

the 40 € will be paid from donations.

Buffalo make not really friends with this behavior...

They profit from the linux sources, u-boot and many more, safe money for software development, take my money for the device but can't contribute the modified sources... take all but give nothing - "nice"!

It looks like that the source code is now online on http://opensource.buffalo.jp/gpl_storage.html
Nice - so I can try recompile the next days.

great. so the mail to my buffalo contact was useful.

gpl sources for the following series were added at http://opensource.buffalo.jp/gpl_storage.html

TS-RHTGL series - Terastation Pro Rack , Marvell Orion based
LS-HGL series - sibling of the LS-LGL but with 128 MB Ram, Marvell Orion based
LS-WSGL series - Linkstation Mini , Marvell Orion based
TS-IGL series - new device, Terastation Pro with iscsi support
TS-RIGL series - new device, terastation pro rack with iscsi support

i guess (and hope) that the TS-IGL and the TS-RIGL both are also Marvell Orion based...

the latest kernel sources (if all are compared) are those that are used for the LS-HGL and LS-WSGL... they use 2.6.16.7 ......but unfortunately i cannot find any new uboot sources. i suppose they are afraid that many boxes get killed by flashing nonworking uboot bootloader binaries...

another thing that i noticed is that there are no linux kernel sources for the
    TS-IGL series
    TS-RIGL series
i hope this kernel sources are added later.

mb, from what I've read and seen pictures of, the TS-IGL and TS-RIGL looks as though they will be just software changes to the same shell (Like the Live and Pro II are the same hardware, but different software packages).

I wonder if the buffalo kernel sources build iscsi right in (as I imagine that would be a requirement) if so, maybe they don't need other kernel sources.

That's only because I had to move that time ago. Love this box and this community, wish I had more time to dedicate to it.
