Hi Folks..

New to the board and have a general question about replacing a failed drive in a TeraStation Pro TS-HTGL/R5. Is there anything special about replacing a failed drive? Can I replace the failed drive with a drive of the same type?

Somewhere in the back of my mind there was something I read about the drives being 'special' because they were specially formatted for the TeraStation Pro TS-HTGL/R5

Help greatly appreciated

Declan

In fact, if you really want an unformatted drive if you are using RAID5. As part of the recovery process, the system will Partition and format the drive and then rebuild the array.
