My HD is broken and I need to reinstall the NAS on my new HD.

Plz tell me how?

I've just had this issue, simplest way I've found for beginners like me is to use an external drive case or pc under linux to put a baby partition on the drive, copy the firmware and boot files over then use that to format the disc and put the software in.

if the drive shows up on the nas navigator then you can try to force an update using the firmware updater. when the program is up you click on the gold ring icon in the title bar and force it to do a complete restore and partition.

I didnt have a cross over cable so connecting it to the pc was iffy, it did do the formatting over the network though but wouldnt send the firmware over, so I took the drive out and copied the firmware over manually.

I tried numerous tricks before I got it going so be patient but I can give what help I can.
