Hi all, i have the misfortune of being the owner of a Linkstation Homeserver HS-DH500GL.

I bought it to stream movies to my Samsung TV - it only played MPEG format and not AVI so I embarked on a journey to upgrade...

I have gone through a lot of pain but have managed to upgrade the firmware to 2.11 (i believe this is the latest) also unsuccessfully
attempted to install Twonky ver5 for NAS.

i have also managed to install telnet onto it with acp_commander although i lose this function after a reboot and have to re-install.

i have given up with Twonky and now my question is what alternatives do i have for making this as functional as possible ideally whilst playing AVI through the Samsung DLNA?

Cheers,

Sio.
