I am trying to use acp_commander to connect to LS Quad Pro, but I keep getting a SocketTimeoutException error.

my workstation: Linux 4.4.0-43-generic #63-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
acp_commander version: 0.4.1
LS model: LS-QV12TL/R5
LS firmware: 1.71 (DTCP-IP:1.65-20130731)

I have changed the admin password back to 'password'.

This is the error I get...
$ java -jar acp_commander.jar -t -ip -pw password -o
ACP_commander out of the nas-central.org (linkstationwiki.net) project.
Used to send ACP-commands to Buffalo linkstation(R) LS-PRO.

WARNING: This is experimental software that might brick your linkstation!

Using random connID value = 23959A8E44B9
Using target:
Starting authentication procedure...
Sending Discover packet...
A SocketTimeoutException usually indicates bad firewall settings.
Check especially for *UDP* port 22936 and make sure that the connection to your LS is working.
ERROR: Exception: SocketTimeoutException (Receive timed out) [ACP Send/Receive (Packet:8020 = ACP_Discover)]

I have confirmed that the remote device is listening on UDP 22936...
$ nc -uvz 22936
Connection to 22936 port [udp/*] succeeded!

I am connected between my workstation and the LS via switch... my workstation is connected via WiFi and the LS is obviously connected via wired Ethernet... both are on the same subnet.

Any advice as to what I am doing wrong?

I searched the net and saw some posts regarding the newer firmware may be making it difficult for acp_commander to root the LS, but I didn't get any details or work-around. Is it true that my LS's firmware (v1.71) will not allow me to use acp_commander?
