Ok, Sorted...Mostly.

Connected to nzbget, and I can download through it if I manually put files into the queue directory. Fixed

If I try and do it through it through the web interface I get an error to check my file permissions. Fixed

I also have a problem with the interface seemingly crashing. I can access the stock page for lighttpd, but the webconsole won't resolve. Fixed!

All I need now is a housekeeping script, everyone I try to download seems to be a dead link.
And I can't for the life of me remember how to get this into the init.d to autostart when I have to reboot.

Without criticising any of the assistance given here, for people such as myself who are a bit less familiar with Linux and need the bleedin obvious spelt out for them, I found another guide that helped me - http://www.tekforum.co.uk/posts/list/17209.page

Anyone up for working on getting NZBget to send Growl notifications when an item has downloaded or emails (like SABnzbd)? Get in touch if you are and are able to do something other than testing ;)

Hi all,

Have been toying with getting a Linkstation live/pro for a fair while now, mainly down to the bittorrent client and DLNA for use with PS3. However, over the past six months or so I've discovered the wonders of usenet and seeing the availability of nzbget just seals the deal for me :) Just curious though, as I noticed what seems a model number (ARM9) earlier in the thread during a summary, what version Linkstation Live/Pro are supported? Would any of the currently available Slim black linkstation live/pro be compatible ?

Thanks in advance

Ah, thanks for the reply.

I'm looking at a very reasonably priced linkstation Live at the moment (1TB, refurbished for £50)

Finally received my linstation Live, it's s LS-CHL-V2941.

Has anyone got any suggestions on where to start with this, as I'm totally new to it. I've read the breakdown summary on the previous page but that seems to mention Linkstation Pro / Original Linkstation Live, where as I assume mine is one of the newer ones.

Use FW 1.31 from Shonk. http://www.mediafire.com/file/25zmjmf50mh/ls_series-131-mod1.rar
Make factory reset with Webif.

Connect with putty. Use ssh. Telnet is disabled by shonk.

After adjusting lighttpd.conf as per the instructions and then starting...

root@HS-DHGL090:~# /opt/etc/init.d/S80lighttpd

I get the following issue :

Starting web server: lighttpd

2010-12-07 20:56:10: (plugin.c.131) Cannot load plugin mod_fastcgi more than once, please fix your config (we may not accept such configs in future releases

Are there any suggestions as to sorting this issue ? Thanks in advance

I have the feeling I'm almost there, but I am making a fatal mistake. I get the following error from NZBgetweb:

ERROR: NZBGetWeb could not process response received from NZBGet-Server (although successfully connected).

Possible reasons include:

Wrong port-settings, NZBGetWeb tries to communicate with a different kind of server (a web-server for example, but not nzbget-server). Check option "ServerPort" in config;
Not compatible server version.

I have changed port setting too much and I cannot seem to remember how it was. I have now:

setup port 8081 in lightttp.conf, nzbget.conf and nzbgetweb.conf

And I set the server IP to 192.168.1.36, wich is the IP adress my router hands out to the Linkstation.

something tells me the solution is in there. Can someone help?

Solved. I changed the server IP back to 127.0.0.1 (instead of 192.168.1.36) and it started working. One wish left though.

I'm using 1.31, cause I couldnt get 1.37 working for me. Whenever I start the build in webserver, nzbgetweb stops working. It doesnt matter if I use the 8081 port (standard nzbgetweb port) or other ports. Anyone?

Assuming you're using an ARM9 LinkStation (Linkstation Pro and original Linkstation Live)

1. Open and bootstrap your LS: viewtopic.php?p=39162#p39162

Note that the bootstrap script version changes occasionally, so currently the script is at:
Code:
http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs05q3armel/cross/stable/lspro-bootstrap_1.2-7_arm.xsh

-- amend the instructions in step 1. accordingly.

2. Enable telnet, as described. Telnet in to the LinkStation and type the following:
Code:
ipkg update
ipkg upgrade
ipkg install nzbget

You may need to ipkg install unrar or other dependencies.

3. Download nzbgetweb and put it in /opt/share/www/nzbgetweb/ . Current version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nzbget/ ... p/download

4. Go to http://linkstation_ip_address:8081/nzbgetweb/
and configure nzbget completely from the web interface -- add your news server etc.

I think that's all of it. If there's anything missing, let me know.
I was a complete Linux n00b before getting my LinkStation, so it's possible to learn all this stuff. If there are terms you are unfamiliar with, Google is your friend.

Im having trouble with step 3 in red here. when I try to create a new folder to add the file i get a permission error
