ez guys, have been offline 4 some days, just popped in again and tried to revive my ls live as described, but after i updated initrd + uimage with tftp, i cant reach my ls anymore? also tried the package delivered by kaiten (lslive-boot.tgz), nothin... any idea? i think i treid every possible solution given here n nothin works for me...

to be honest im really pissed off by buffalo, as my first linkstation i got was f%&8 already when sold and now my rma changed ls live is some sort of undocumented prototype, which will be f%&8 as soon as you try to update the stock firmware... this cant be true, really? damn...

hello everyone
got my ls today and because i wanted the webaccess i upgrade to the new fw (or rather: tried to upgrade)....before i discovered this forum. :(
now i'm at the point that i can only boot the ls with an tsftp server (and fw 2.03 on the ls).
i tried to do the upgrade again, seltecting that boot not be updated. but no differnce?
what i am i doing wrong?

My LS Pro is same as this one.
I have to setup TFTP to fix when it bricked, using original firmware. All the other firmwares cannot flash properly.

if you want to try FreeLink/GenLink on an LS Pro you need to apply the initrd-only update in advance or it won`t work.

ahhh, jipiieyeaah

used the firmware http://www.buffalo-technology.com/suppo ... 013_us.zip

the first reboot while flashing still had errors and needed the tftp server.
but now it works.

So, if I understand, I could fix my box by download the 2.06 Firmeware and install just the bootloader?

At this way I could run the allready installed freelink and the box will boot normaly again, correct?

so, i have send my LS Live back and git my money back.... and then i ordered a LS Pro !
I hope the LS Pro is the better choice !

My LS Pro is same as this one.
I have to setup TFTP to fix when it bricked, using original firmware. All the other firmwares cannot flash properly.

Is this the case? Is Buffalo also doing the same thing with the Pro's? I guess, it will be similar to the LS1 LS2 separation of firmware? or maybe the firmware will soon support both platforms.

I still just want a kuro pro... holidays are coming.

Hi,

i will bought a Linkstation Live and i would like to confirm that my model is the old one.
There is any difference on the back (the connector's location) of the LS Live between the new and the old model ?
If not, when we opened the LS Live there a condensator or a chip that we can easily recognize and which is not present or placed at the same place in the 2 box ?
If you have a nice comparaison picture (side by side), it would be great.

Thank you for your help !

Edit : could you confirm this please :

look at my first posting.

look how i the new LS Live is opened. then look at
http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index.ph ... the_LS_Pro

they are both completely different to dissassemble. the old LS Live was completely the same as the LS Pro.
