Thx to Jackdaw on http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/
and others who contributed including ColinTaylor and Pcrepsi
Most of this is taken from his thread here viewtopic.php?f=68&t=25745&hilit=twonky
This guide is for 7.26-2 NAS build for Linkstation Live HS-DHGL. It it written for upgrading from Stevie Wonder firmware with 6.x, so there may be slight differences from stock. If any typos or bugs are spotted I will try to keep it updated.
# cd /etc/init.d
# ./twonky.sh stop
# mv twonky.sh twonky.sh.old
# chmod -x twonky.sh.old
# cd /mnt/disk1/share
# mkdir twonky
# mkdir twonky/twonkydb
# cd twonky
# wget http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/7.2.6-2/twonky-linkstation-live-7.2.6-2.zip
# unzip twonky-linkstation-live-7.2.6-2.zip
# rm twonky-linkstation-live-7.2.6-2.zip
# chmod 755 twonkys* twonkyproxy twonkywebdav cgi-bin/* plugins/*
# cp twonkyserver-default.ini twonkyserver-default.ini.old
# vi twonkyserver-default.ini
Make appropriate changes to your file
This is what mine has in it. (thx again to Jackdaw & stevie) - Make sure all listed folders exist :
# cd /etc/init.d
# wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5877837/7.08/twonky.sh
Thanks to Jackdaw for this file. It worked for me on 7.2.6-2
# chmod +x twonky.sh
# ./twonky.sh start
It took a fair while to start up, so don't try and go straight to http://LINKSTATIONIP:9050/#status
. Give it a couple of minutes.
If you have any need for twonkyproxy and twonkywebdav then edit twonky.sh so as to change the values at lines 8 and 10 from 0 to 1. Most users will have no need for these services.
If you have the rescan interval set to -1 in the web interface it will reduce the speed of file transfers to the NAS.
If you have any problems, you can just rename (and +x) the 'old' file you created in /etc/init.d and all will be as before.
