Hello all,

I'm trying to understand if I have some performance issue on my Buffalo or not, because the I/O rate seems too slow:

Code:
~# hdparm -tT /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   176 MB in  2.00 seconds =  87.82 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:   56 MB in  3.10 seconds =  18.09 MB/sec

And this is my configuration:

Code:
~# cat /proc/cpu
cpu/     cpuinfo
manaan:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor       : Feroceon rev 0 (v5l)
BogoMIPS        : 266.24

CPU implementer : 0x41
CPU architecture: 5TEJ
CPU variant     : 0x0
CPU part        : 0x926

Hardware        : Buffalo Linkstation Pro/Live
Revision        : 0000

Code:
~# uname -a

Code:
~# hdparm -i /dev/sda

What do you think?
How can I improve my I/O rate?

To see that link it's seems also too much quick my NAS (that should be 17 MB/s):

My speeds are the following

Code:
~# hdparm -tT /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   230 MB in  2.01 seconds = 114.43 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 128 MB in  3.04 seconds =  42.10 MB/sec

specially the timing cached reads are down to the ground compared with the wiki: http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/Benchmarks

Code:
The following results were obtained using hdparm 6.1

 Timing cached reads:                            ~ 300 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:                     ~  18 MB/sec

Anybody any suggestions? Anybody alive? :biglol:
