Addon Section added,

Moving all modded services to that. A few examples.

All have their own melco files, Modules, Javascript pages, Conf rewrite sections & setups. Just makes it easier to add/remove.

The Services page looks pretty bre now.. just poor little telnet.. :(

Sorry guys, been working (too) hard the past weeks. A couple of projects had to be finished these days. Now I'll be off for a week (vacation). After that I should have a bit more time again for testing/development and finally doing Kaitens translation.

i suggest we collect all in one place....i can easily integrate mods....it is really easy....i did it already 6 times...it is as easy as i described in the wiki.

upload everything anywhere and i will integrate it in a new freestation-jtymod-snapshot.

mindbender I've noticed a few things,
The shutdown or reboot, no longer work from cli or webui.

The daily logrotate/calib_time has a slight effect on the system for some reason. (Possibly Not Confirmed)

Magenta: Firmware Upgrade
Red: Daily Logrotate/calib_time

Image

Since I noticed the possible this issue, I changed logrotate to weekly, just to see if there was an issue with it or associated files. Since then there has been no daily pause on the system. I'll change it back & set it to a time where I can monitor the system.

The other possiblity and the most likely might be the time_set.sh issue, but not really thinking about it at the time I added the symlink to set_time.sh, as i said above I'll change logrotate back over the next couple of days & report back. This would have an effect on the graph system if the system time was adjusted wrong.

Has anyone else noticed if the fans are running correctly too... mines has been off since thew update.

thats true. but no wonder why. all additional services i introduced are not properly stopped vi shutdown.sh

there won`t be a bugfix...there will be a sysvinit-integration more likely. jonli447 fixed the sysvinit-package i created and we will integrate it into jtymod soon. then this problem won`t occur anymore.

weird. especially as i just added stuff. i did not change really anything. anyway.

@mindbender, do you think we should maybe use a BSD style of init instead? Sort of like Gentoo, foonas, etc? I'll agree it is nicer than sysvinit, but I don't know if it's really worth it, as we hope to have foonas running on the LS-Pro relatively soon (OE OpenLink optpackage). I believe timtimred plans to incorporate Kaiten, George, nobody's, etc work into the package. So, it might just be a waste of time.

i don`t know. i read the irc-logs. NAiL wrote that foonas is based on BSD-init.....

i only know sysvinit....

i looked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Init and i am still unsure. but it seems that timtimred/NAiL/tampakuro are the opinion that the BSD_init is better. well, i just don`t know. everyone who knows both systems is better to ask. i am free for everything.

Kaiten
most likely we will move to a different init-system...thats why this page might point to a different file in the future.

but hey! thats exactly what i asked for /etc/exports for NFS!
an interface for editing NFS shares....awesome.

if we had an additional button for triggering "/etc/init.d/start_nfsd.sh restart" i would instantly modify that script to support this restart-call.

As I've encorporated melco files for all the addons, I had thought of using the following in the custom_services.sh:

Ushare as an example

Code:
if [ -f /etc/melco/ushare ]; then
    . /etc/melco/ushare
    if [ "$ushare" = "on" ] ; then
        echo "Starting ushare"
        ushare -f /etc/ushare.conf &
    fi
fi

It was the easiest way I could see for loading the scripts at startup, if they were enabled in the gui, without editing startup scripts from console/ui

start your box 3 times after you hear the beep after 20 seconds.

this should get your box into EM Mode.

then use the acp_commander to start telnet/clear root password.

from there you can debug the problem via telnet.

EDIT: wrong thread besides.

Hi,

I installed the kernel/initrd/rootfs on my Linkstation Live and it said it was successful but nothing looks any different.

How can I tell that it's been installed and how do I enable SSH?

Thanks

Ian

If you installed freelink the default ssh user and password is root lspro ssh should be enabled on the reboot after the install
