Hi guys,

Just a quick question, which version of transmission is the latest possible on my LS2 mipsel freelink box? I got 1.34 working no problem, but when trying to upgrade to 1.42, I was told it needs libcurl 7.16.3, and the most I can get apt-get to install is 7.15.5.

Can I fix this or need a lower version of transmission?

Cheers,
Mike

sounds like you are running Etch/stable? http://packages.debian.org/etch/libcurl3 ( the lower version of libcurl)

Mike, are you using the 2.4 or 2.6 kernel? I haven't tried running Lenny/testing on mipsel, but it might be fine w/ the 2.6 kernel.
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libcurl3 (higher version available in Lenny)

You might be able to "pin" some things down and just upgrade the essentials to the Lenny-ish versions... instead of doing a distro upgrade.

You might be able to just download that libcurl.deb and try installing it w/ dpkg ... it might complain about it, but it might work, also.
