Post subject:  HD-H250LAN & OpenSSH: upgradable to OpenSSH 5.0?

Using the instructions found here, I was able to get OpenSSH (ssh, sftp, scp, etc) installed and working on my Buffalo LinkStation HD-H250LAN.

However, I also noticed that there are new/current versions of OpenSSH available at the proscribed download site here..

Question(s):
1) Has the latest version of OpenSSH ( OpenSSH 5.0 ) been tested on any MIPSEL and, in specific, the Buffalo LinkStation HD-H250LAN?

2) anything I would need to watch out for if I upgraded from 4.3p2 to 5.0p1?

Mike

I would turn off the old SSH only if I was sure the new one works. Run it on a different port for testing purposes...

Ah, right. Good advice. I have the telent daemon still running with required log in as a back up until I finish adjusting the system.

Remind me: OpenSSH looks for default configurations in /etc/ssh/ssh_config?

Regards,
Mike

It depends. Start it with command line parameters for testing purposes
